Kinesiology

Kinesiology (the science of movement) is one of the fastest growing complimentary medicine modalities in Australia today. A natural, holistic therapy that aims to improve your health, well-being and performance by stimulating your body’s own healing potential.

Kinesiology encompasses the wisdom and knowledge of both Western science (anatomy, physiology and biomechanics) and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Kinesiology identifies factors (structural, nutritional, emotional and energetic) that block the body’s natural healing process.

The Basis of Kinesiology

It has been identified that specific, localised pain or symptoms could be coming from elsewhere in the body. Whenever there is over-energy in the body, there is a corresponding under-energy somewhere else. By working with the body’s energy system and drawing the over-energy to the under-energy, the system becomes balanced.

What is unique to kinesiology is the use of ‘muscle monitoring’ as a biofeedback tool. It is thought that all stress, imbalances and blockages in the body’s nervous system and acupressure energy meridians can be detected by testing the function of certain muscles. This is achieved using a variety of simple arm, leg and head movements.
